Recycled Packaging

Rejewels is tip toeing. The footprint is light.

These days most online orders arrive in a huge box with an excessive amount of packaging and unnecessary plastic. I believe there can be a simpler, more sustainable way to deliver goods.
Instead of using the typical bleached white envelope and then wrapping the jewelry up in layers of plastic, Rejewels uses a different approach when mailing individual orders. Each unique envelope is made from recycled magazines.

I am is proud to say that these recycled envelopes have been a real hit since they have been introduced. Small businesses have picked up on this idea and customers are delighted when they see one of these colorful envelopes sitting in their mailbox among their regular mail.

To purchase in packages of 10 & 20, head over to recycledpackaging. The 14x7cm size is perfect for sending holiday cards, gift cards, pen pal or even love letters.

 Rejewels Meets Ocean Wise

Introducing Marine Jewel, a moving art piece raising awareness around upcycling.

As an Ocean Wise ambassador I proposed a project idea, that is now being moved around to different locations in the community of Canada. A conversation starter, that may shift how people think about unwanted jewelry and what goes into our landfill. My goal is for people to know that there are other options out there before they throw out their jewelry into the trash, and for consumers to think twice before buying something new.

Who is Ocean Wise? Ocean Wise is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower communities and individuals to take action to protect and restore our world’s oceans. Ocean Wise does this by tackling three critical ocean challenges - climate change, overfishing and plastic pollution – through six intersecting initiatives: seaforestation, changing arctic, plastics, fisheries and seafood, youth, and whales. With Ocean Wise’s approval, my mother/artist Iva Dietrich brought this art concept to life! Using all of Rejewels’ leftover donated pieces, she created this mixed collage on a 48” X 36” canvas.
